A great strategy I like to use for building my network marketing business is Pinterest.  It’s fast, very easy and free and it really drives a lot of traffic to your sites without hardly any effort if you pin up interesting and valuable content (images, videos).

When prospecting and recruiting for a home based business, many people either do it through clenched teeth or they don’t do it at all. They instead, spend their valuable time doing activities that do not grow their business. These activities are referred to as “staying busy” activities. These are things like checking emails, tweaking websites, organizing leads, going through training (which is good, but not if it is taking up over 50% of your day), rewriting scripts and then rewriting them again to make them perfect and so forth.

We only have so much time during the day to build our home business and 80% of the time we should be utilizing to prospect and recruit for our business. The other 20% of the time should be spent on the “busy work”. People that do this in reverse are usually those who have a strong fear of the phone and are afraid to step out of their comfort zone a little to make that initial contact with their prospects. Creating Friends Lists on Facebook

Did you realize you can categorize your friends into lists so you can network with them better? Yeah, probably many online marketers know this, but for those of you who do not, this is a big help when marketing with facebook, especially as you get a significant amount of friends!

You can sort your friends into different lists.

* Close friends
* Aquaintances
* Restricted
* Your own lists

Close friends are the people who you really want to keep updated on more frequently.

Aquaintances are the friends that you do not need or want to stay in touch with as often as your close friends.

Restricted are those who you do not want to see your updates unless you tag them in your post.

You also have the ability to create your own unique lists. These can be any kind of list you desire. You can have a “prospects” list, a “team” list, a “people I want to get to know list” or any other list you want to categorize your friends in.

The task of creating lists in facebook to categorize your friends is very powerful and can really give you control while you are marketing on facebook.

Ahh yes! Facebook group marketing! What a powerful concept when it comes to promoting your opportunity on good ol’ FB! In many cases, promoting in groups is an important element in your marketing campaigns. To make the most use of Facebook or any other social media site for that matter, consistency is key! It is the small actions we take on a consistent basis that adds up to big things! Not the way around (big things in a small amount of time). Facebook groups are a great way to do this. Below are 4 facebook group strategies to follow when trying to effectively promote with facebook groups.

Friend Like-Minded People

Groups on Facebook are meant for networking and connecting with others of like-mind. When approaching your facebook group marketing strategy, the first thing you want to do is find groups that are relevant to what you are promoting (i.e.. making money online, health & wealth, vitamins, etc.). This is where you will find like-minded people. Beginning communicating with other members and request their friendship. Build relationships with them and please do NOT message them with your link unless they ask you to.

Post & Promote

There is a big difference between posting and promoting. Making posts are geared towards commenting on others posts, sharing a blog post or adding value of some sort to the facebook group. When links are included in this type of post, generally they are links to helpful information or something that directs the members to read more about a certain topic of the post. It is not a promotional link. It is usually relevant to the group and what people are talking about. Promoting is where you post an ad, video or link that points to your products or services. You have to understand that when you are implementing a facebook group marketing strategy, you will need to promote at some point. How else are you going to build your business or sell your products, right? But, you need to do it in a tasteful manner. Add more value than you do promotional links and you should be safe. The only exception is if the facebook group was created specifically for promoting your opportunity, products or services. Even still, adding some value to these groups will help you to stand out from the crowd.

Spread Posts Out

When posting to facebook groups, it is important to spread your posts out. Sure, you are allowed to join up to 300 groups, however, this does not mean you can post your ads to 300 groups all at once! This will put you in what our team likes to call… “facebook jail” and you will not be able to post for up to 15 days. Who wants that? Not me! By spreading out your posts throughout the day, you are using facebook groups tacticfully and you won’t be bombarding the feed with post after post.

Set Up Your Own Group

Once you get the hang of “hanging” out in facebook groups and promoting the right way in them, it might be time for you to create your own group. Don’t let this scare you off. It is pretty simple and can really attract many targeted prospects & potential business partners or customers to you. Depending on whether you are branding yourself or your company, your title should reflect that. Invite friends to participate. By having your own facebook group, you can get your content and business information out there to the public. Just be sure to keep all content you post honest and include value as well. Include your companies strengths, compensation plan, ratings, etc.  Give contact information so people can contact you and be upfront about any challenges. Offer tips, resources, strategies or any other helpful information to help others.

Remember, to have fun while you are participating in facebook groups. People are attracted to people, not products and services. So, let your personality shine while you are out there and be consistent! Success does not happen overnight, but it DOES happen eventually if you stick with it. Facebook group marketing is just one piece of the whole success equation.

Something beautiful about marketing through Facebook is that you can find traffic that is specifically targeted, even by using a strategy of marketing which is free on Facebook. The key for you to remember on social media and in this case, Facebook, is to always understand that entertaining viewers and readers along with helping to fulfill their needs is vital.

You shouldn’t use Facebook exclusively for promoting your affiliate products or network marketing business directly. It will not generate the right results as you will be considered a spammer and eventually get booted anyway. This is probably one of the biggest facebook marketing mistakes around. You should always lead with value.

Building Value = Building Relationships = Building your Home Business Income

With that said, below are 6 recommended facebook marketing tips you should implement in your network marketing business.

1. Set up a profile on Facebook. Establish your identity with a profile for your home based business and yourself. This profile on Facebook will be very beneficial in the establishing important relationships with others. While creating a profile, it is important for you to remember to add a profile photo, albums of photos, videos and a button of “add friends”.

2. While social networking, understand the hang out spot for your target market. If your target is bloggers, you may begin searching for groups of bloggers and be sure to become a member. Then, people will begin to request your friendship just from seeing you in the group and participating and this in turn will grow your home business income.

3. Interact and chat inside these social media groups. Leave positive comments, ‘like’ postings of others, add friends and begin interaction.

4. Set up a business fan-page. These pages are created for businesses, products, services, brands, musicians, and celebrities. This page allows public figures, organizations and various groups to create a presence publically on Facebook. You may first tell potential prospects about becoming a fan of your business Facebook page and then, you can share any important information with photo and video uploading, discussion posting administration and also having status updates and posts to the wall.

5. Give fans valuable content. This can be done by writing a post on a blog and sharing with groups you are in which are relevant to the topic. Post them to your page.

6. Add Plug-ins on Facebook to your page. When others press “like”, users can share what is on your page to the users profile. A button reading “Recommendation” will give the option to personalize any other fanpages. Both are only two among a few different plug-ins you need. Also, buttons like LikeBox, LiveStream as well as comments can be essential for marketing through Facebook.

Avoid the common facebook marketing mistakes. Always remember to follow the 80/20 rule…80% of the time provide value…20% of the time promote your network marketing business. If you follow this main rule of facebook marketing, you will be very happy with the results you get and you will definitely grow your home business income.

A new platform I came across…I know…totally OFF topic of my blog (but not really). Typically, I write about how to build and make money online with your network marketing business. The good thing about Fanbox is that you can not only earn cash online with this platform in itself, but you can also build your home business with it as well. Okay, let’s dive in to what I’m finding so far with this platform and WHY I felt the need to share.

****By the way…I do not get any money for sending you to Fanbox…It’s just a totally AWESOME site and therefore, I had to share…

First off, I am absolutely ADDICTED to this site already and I’ve only been on it for a very short time as of this posting.

It is set up much like Facebook, except it is more of a content and knowledge site. You go there to interact with others and share “knowledge”. You also get paid $$ to do this.

You can share information on anything you want. Basically, you are setting up mini-blogs and posting in them. You are paid when people read your posts. The longer they read, the more money online you make. Therefore, it really pays to provide good content (articles, videos, etc) that is going to GRAB the readers’ attention.

That’s not it though….

You also get paid to rate and categorize other peoples’ posts as well as comment on them. Trust me, from what I’ve seen….It adds up BIG TIME!

Now, this is not a get rich quick scheme. In fact, your money that you accrue “matures” for 60 days before you can cash out to your paypal or request a check. However, there are people who have only been on the site for less than 6 months and they are making around $1,000 or more a month.

Okay, so how do you build your work at home business with Fanbox? Well, it works much like article directories, blogging and other content sites. In the case of your business, you would blog about things that are relevant to your business (much like this blog). Then you can insert links to your website in your posts. Obviously, the more posts you make in your mini-blogs with links back to your site, the more exposure you are going to get.

You can even write up review type posts for your network marketing business as well. The great thing about this is not only are you getting yourself MORE exposure to your home based business, but you are also getting paid by Fanbox to do it. Win-Win

Well, that’s enough. I am not trying to sell you on anything. I just wanted to share with you a site that I am now experimenting with to build my business, add new customers and make money online by providing quality content. You decide if it is something that you might want to do.

What is your home business marketing strategy? What is that? You don’t have one? Shame on you! Well, it’s about time you get one. Having an action plan for your home based business is the foundation of your success with it. Without a strategy or plan of attack, your business will just be wishy washy. You need to know EXACTLY what you plan to do on a day by day basis to keep the traffic coming in to your sites and follow that plan religiously. Want to see my business strategy?

Of course there are other things that I do each day too help grow my business, but the 4 KEY things I be sure to implement on a daily basis are as follows:

Social Network —–> Facebook Profile ——> Facebook Fanpage —–> List

Here is how it works.

1. I invite a minimum of 50 to 100 people daily (I do take days off) to be my friend on a smaller social network place I’m with. I have a few, so I take turns. One example is: CafeMoM (however, you should really find one that works for you.  There are many places out there.  Just Google “social network sites” to find a huge list of them.  Plus, we do not want everyone saturating the same site.

2. In my friend invite…I invite them to join my work at home group I have on there. Starting your own group on any of these social network sites is beneficial (builds trust and credibility and positions you as a leader). Here is my group for CafeMOM : Legitimate Work From Home/Abundance & Prosperity Training (this is just one group, I have other groups spread out on different social sites)..Remember though, find one site….dominate it and then move on to others.

3. Once they accept my friendship, I then send them a quick email (through the social network system) with a little bit about myself, asking them about them and inviting them to be my friend on facebook via My Profile.

4. Once they become my friend on facebook, I then invite them over to my fanpage: Wealth With Wendy .  This particular fanpage of mine offers my 7 Day Wealth Training Series (here on my blog) so they not only become a fan, but hopefully join my training series and become part of my list.  I have other pages that have different offers.

That is my simple daily home business marketing strategy. I just follow it consistently on a daily basis. You see, home business success is nothing more than being consistent! It is the people who give up because they do not see instant results that fail.

So…what is your business strategy going to be? Write it down and Get to work! You owe it to yourself to stay consistent even if you are not seeing immediate results. You know why? Because you WILL have a breakthrough! So get busy.

Okay, here we are on your 6th day of training. Congratulations for getting this far! This means you are truly SERIOUS about YOUR success. You should be proud of yourself. Today, I would like to cover Social Network and Social Media marketing.

This is an important training post that you should pay attention to, because both social networking and social media are the MAJOR buzz of today. Just about every marketer is using it and you should too. So, with that said, let’s dive right in.

Social Networking

I absolutely LOVE social networking. To me, it’s a blast and I really get to build some fantastic relationships online with it. It has taken my business to new levels as well. Anyway, you have probably heard of MySpace, Facebook and other types of social network sites. These are the type of sites I’m going to discuss here. It does not matter which site we use as an example, they all pretty much work the same.

One particular site I’m with that I really like is called CafeMom. As the name suggests, this social network site targets MOMS! I’m a mom so I find this one a particularly easy way of connecting with people and building relationships.

CafeMom not only has MOMS on the site, it also has stay at home moms, work at home moms, pregnant moms, busy moms, etc. You get the picture. There are moms on their that are looking to work from home. There are moms on there who already work from home but need help with marketing skills, leadership skills, network marketing skills, etc. As you can see, this site offers a great deal of potential.

Set Up Your Profile

Okay, the first thing you want to do is set up a free profile. So go ahead and click on www.cafemom.com and set up your free profile. You can take a look at mine here to see how I have set it up. CHECK OUT MY CAFEMOM PROFILE You will notice I have an image of myself (very important as people like to see who you are). I have also included some information on my profile about myself, my kids, my story, a link to my blog, etc.

So go ahead and fill out your profile. If you do not have a “success story” just yet, no problem, you can just tell them what inspires you, why you do what you do, etc. Try to be magnetic and interesting. Just be honest here and do not add any unnecessary fluff or hype. Be genuine.

Set Up Your Journal

Next, you will want to start your journal on your profile. This is easily done by clicking on the “journal” tab and “add new journal”. This is going to work similar to a blog. You can make a new post in it a couple times a week. This keeps your profile fresh and active. Your purpose here in the social network sites is to contribute valuable information that is going to help other people. This is a place to brand yourself as an expert in your niche (or in this case…the network marketing industry).

Your journal can be a place to add helpful articles, blog posts or any other type of useful information that people would be interested in reading. I would not use it as a way to advertise your business, although, many people do. Again, we are going to be different than the traditional network marketers out there. We are going to brand ourselves, so the more you can contribute to the community that will help them, the more you will stand out to others.

Find Friends

Now, once you have your profile set up and maybe a couple posts in your journal, it is time to go searching for friends. What I do is I join “work at home” related groups and begin participating in them. Just click on “Groups” and scroll down to “Find new group”. Here you can plug in different keywords to find related groups that you are looking for.

Once you have joined the group, add some “useful” posts to their group that can help others. I wouldn’t dive right into advertising your business in their business section at this point. Remember the 80/20 rule…80% contributing value and 20% promoting yourself and business.

Next, you can go into these groups and invite the members to be your friend. This is very simple. Just click on anyone’s post on the group and then click on their avatar. This will bring you to their profile page. Next, you want to click on “invite as a friend”. You can either keep the default invitation or you can select custom invitation and compose one of your own. It should be brief. I usually say something like: Hi there, I’m Wendy a work at home mom of 3 amazing boys looking to connect and build relationships with others on here. Send the invitation and wait for them to accept. IMPORTANT… DO NOT email them and tell them about your business. You are simply looking to build a relationship with them and hopefully get them to click over to your blog and join your subscriber list.

Start Your Own Group

Another thing I do with Social Network sites is I start my own group. This group is like your own personal forum. Take a look at mine here. It is so easy to do. You simply click on the “Groups” tab and then over to the right click on “Create a Group”. Then customize it from there.

You see, when you have your own group, when inviting people, you can customize your “friend invites” to ask them to join your group. So, if there are people in the “work at home” group that you are inviting to be your friend, they are already in this type of group, so you can ask them to join your group to help them find work, learn new skills, etc.

In this case, my invites look something like this: Hey there, I’m Wendy a work at home mom for over 8 years now. I see you also work from home. Feel free to pop over to my work at home group and post a link to your business.

or:

Hey there, I’m Wendy a work at home mom for over 8 years now. I see you are looking for work (or looking to build your network marketing skills). I have a group that may help you. Feel free to pop over and join.

You are not only offering your friendship, but you are also offering them a way to get the information they are looking for or you are providing them a free way to advertise their business.

Be Consistent

***IMPORTANT*** So, the last thing I want to mention with Social Network sites is in order to really be effective with this type of marketing, you want to be adding a new post to your journal at least once a week as well as new content to your group (if you have one). You also want to be sending out at least 25 to 50 new friend invites each day. The more friends you get, the more people you will have joining your group, the more relationships you will be building and the more you will be branding yourself as a leader. Plus, the more people you will be driving back to your blog and subscriber list.

Social Media
