Making Money Online – Tips to Stay Focused and Motivated

Making money online with your network marketing business can sometimes be a challenge. This is especially true if you have children around. At least, I know in my own experience it is (I have 3 kids ages 15, 5 and 3).

Because working from home with your own home business is not as easy as working outside of the home (yes, I said not as easy)…it is important that you have some effective strategies under your belt to help you work through the obstacles and get what needs to be done…done.

If making money online from home is new to you, like it probably is for a lot of people, it will take time to stay focused and motivated to work. Working from home does have a different feel compared to working in an office environment. When you work at home, family and friends might not take your work to seriously. This can lead to not getting work done on your timeframe or done at all. Making money online has its advantages and some downfalls as well. Here are some ways in which you can remind yourself to stay focused and motivated while making money online from home:

Designate a Work Area. When you decide to make money from home, turn one of your rooms into a ‘home office’. That is, purchase a desk, a computer, high speed internet, and what ever else you will need to succeed and stay focused on your work. It is not wise to sit in front of your television with an I pod in your ears and think this is a good way for making money online from home. The only way to meet your daily goals is to designate a work area only for you.

Rise Early During the Work Week. Just as regular places of employment have an eight hour work day, so should you when making money online from home. This is where you have to create a new mindset. Rise each work day as if you were leaving and going to an office. That means it is not wise to begin your work day at 10:00, 11:00 or even 12:00 in the afternoon. Begin your work day at 8:30 or 9:00

Dress for Success. Just like working in a typical office setting, it is wise to dress for success. If you begin your work day in your pajamas or sweats, you will more likely than not, act lazy and not accomplish much work. The only day to dress casual, not frumpy, should be on Friday’s. Although, making money online from home in your pajamas is doable and usually a perk, sometimes it’s best to create the right mindset and dressing for success is the way to do it.

Limit Reading Your E-Mails. Even though your emails come in all day, set limits on how many to read when making money online from home. That is, read the first batch as soon as you wake up. Respond if necessary, then work 3-4 hours without reading anymore emails. Take a lunch break, then read the other batch of emails and respond if necessary. Finally, complete your work day, read the last batch of incoming emails, again, respond if necessary and end your work day. Do not let the “busy” work get in your way when you are trying to make money online.
